The cherries baked into the cake make for an excellent surprise! When the cherry season starts, it’s time to bake this ‘Chocolate Cherry Cake’! It’s one of my favorite summer treats. I make an ultra rich chocolate cake with diced cherries, frost and fill with a creamy cream cheese frosting and add more cherries all over! This cake is so easy to put together and perfect for a summer barbecue.
- Chocolate cake mix (1)
- Cherry pie mix (21oz)
- Eggs white (6)
- Cream of Tatar (1/4tsp)
- Water (1/3c)
- Sugar (1 1/2c)
- Egg white (2)
- Vanilla essence (1tsp)
Method of preparation:-
- Take a bowl, mix chocolate cake mix, egg whites and cherry pie filling in it. Grease a 9″ x 13 ” pan and then make a layer of flour on it. Now pour the batter into the pan.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven at 350 degree and bake it for about 30 to 35 minutes or till the tooth pick inserted in the centre of the cake comes out clean. Now take out the pan from the oven and keep it to cool.
- To make the frosting:- Mix all the frosting ingredients and then pour them in a double broiler and with a beater, beat for 1 minute. Then place this broiler on boiling water and then again beat for about 7 minutes.
- Now take off it from the heat and beat it 2 minutes on high speed. Now take cool cake and then frost it with this mixture.
