Every cake baking adventure starts with a good vanilla cake! It’s the universally loved cake flavor that acts as a great canvas on which to build other flavors. So today, I’m going to be talking about how to make the BEST Vanilla Cake recipe ever.
It’s the first cake that I learnt to bake, and it’s still my go-to, especially since K loves it too. Here, I’ll be sharing STEP BY STEP instructions on how to make this amazing homemade vanilla cake that’s sure to be a family favorite for you! Plus, I’ll be sharing a couple of simple variations on this classic vanilla cake recipe as well. These variations include a simple citrus scented vanilla cake.
- Cake flour (1 1/2c)
- Sugar (1c)
- Oil (1/3c)
- Milk (1/3c)
- White vinegar (1/4tsp)
- Salt (1/4tsp)
- Vanilla extract (1tsp)
- Baking powder (2 1/2tsp)
- Eggs (6)
Method of preparation:-
- First heat the oven to 375 degrees. Take a bowl, mix cake flour, salt and baking powder in it. Take another bowl, mix egg yolk, ½ cup of sugar, oil, milk and vanilla extract in it in this mixture. Mix it well. Now mix the mixture of both bowls together.
- Take a bowl, mix the egg white, vinegar and remaining sugar in it until it gets fluffy. Add this mixture to the previous mixture and mix them well.
- Take a baking pan of 8 x 8 inch, grease it and then pour this mixture in the pan. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake the mixture for about 25 minutes. When the cake gets baked then take out the pan from the oven. Now the vanilla cake is ready.
